All I can say is that the lower end feels more solid, like its there. And yeah I'm using 2 type r 15's in a 8cuft box. The box worked great for my hd3's. Thats when it was tuned to 40hz. I was running the type r's for awhile at 40hz since I didn't have time to get a new port. Songs with low end bass almost felt non existent. You can feel it, but not as solid as when its tuned to 32hz. Also the blow by lil jon plays better at 32hz than when I had it at 40hz as odd as that may seem, mainly since that song plays higher frequencies.
I'm good Yanks. Still running the 3k's but only running one along with the JL 450/4 and memphis 15-mcsync6 comps. Trying to think of a new setup right now around 4k, 4 15's, memphis or mmats amps, same components and yes I will have rear fill.
How is the sq on the 15" R's compare to the 12's? And how much power can you run daily on them? At one point I really wanted a 15"R but they were too pricey pricey for me at the time.

I don't know how the 15's compare to the 12's since I never had the 12" type R. Also I have the older version, the 04 models. Right now I'm running about 900rms max to each one. Gain is set lower than normal.
Theres nothing to prove anymore. Plus, my box builder even told me my car was hard to get loud. So I don't want to spend anymore money trying to get louder. A good sealed daily driver is all I need now, and it will still be loud, just sealed.
