Not to mention a decent knowledge of electronics. Most people look at a o-scope like its something that belongs in star trek  |

Cheaper Amp Clamp DMM's cant handle large DC amps. That will take 1k. But like M.S. said, you need speacial tools to get the real rms. That will give you a rough idea, clamp the power, or ground, play a test tone and see what the reading is. then X's it by the voltage it was at, and subtract for efficiancy of the amp. It will at least tell you if the amp is near stated rating. |
