hey, I am about to take out a loan to buy a 2004 scion Xb, and to keep with the square thing, I was gonna get some kicker L7's. I plan to change the alt to a 180, so I was wondering how much power it could handle for subs. I was thinking kicker 1000.1 amp with 2 12" kicker L7's. What is your opinion? should i use a different, or should i get like 1 15" solo-X or whatever kickers new square subs are called. whould i need to change anything other the alt? would i have to get a powercap? please help me out and give me your insight. If your insist on Kicker.... get 2 L7's and a zx1200.1 or somthing, your going to want about 1500rms (the 1200.1 should be close enough) a run of 0ga wire and a extra battery in the trunkand you should be fine. Power caps = useless. You want a custom box though.... but if you looking for sound quality change up the kicker subs to somthing better

I would wait til I had the car before I picked what speakers to get.i have a 2006 suzuki aerio sx and my car is tiny in the back. messure the car and see what kind of airspace you've got to play with, then decide what's going to work best.
well im getting the car later today, and those cars have more room than you would think. i should have plenty room for 2 12s. maybe some 12s audioque or Fi or something. what would your opinions on that be. i really dont know what to get that is good for sq. i have 2 10" typse s in my focus zx3 right now that sound decent, but i want better sound and louder for my scion.
I you want square subs I would go for a 15in L7 in a about 3 cu.ft. slot port tuned to 32 or 33 hertz with a 1000-1200 watt amp. with that you might not need a alt. just do the "big 3" and a deep cycle bat. under the hood
how much were you looking to spend sir? lots o choices. =) =( ithink if i was bugeting id run 2 shiva-x woofers with a ed nine.1 if i had a lil cash to spend id roll with 2 rd audio sonance 12s with a rd audio 1750.1 with a lil more cash id roll with 2 fi bl w/all options or the aa havoc on a rf t30001bd or a sundown saz3000.1/rd audio 3250.1 (rd puts out a lil more power but is a lil more as well)
