If you have the 2ohmDVC: http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp?Q=2&I=22 If you have the 4ohmDVC: http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp?Q=2&I=42 From what I can see, is that if you have the 2ohmDVC, you will be fine but, if you have the 4ohmDVC, you will be under powering the subs unless you would like to take a risk and run your amp at 1ohm. Some Kicker amps that I have come across worked fine in 1ohm as long as all the settings were set correctly. Your best bet is to just take you CVR's out and check what VC they are. Wouldn't want to blow a sub of amp now. |

Silver Member Username: KaerfplSpencerport, NY USA Post Number: 736 Registered: Jun-06 | lol, both the DVC 4 and 2ohm subs look alike. But that's alright. So you already have this system wired up and running? If your wired down to 1ohm, then your subs are DVC 4ohms. |
New member Username: Uso4shoSan Francisco, California Post Number: 7 Registered: Nov-07 | hahahahaha rookie mistake sorry,no just the box is set up,see what happened is the old amp blew out and my brother gave me his 1 month old kicker zx1000.1 amp so just wondering if it's possible to push the 12s?if so how can i set it up thanxz Joe.. |
Silver Member Username: KaerfplSpencerport, NY USA Post Number: 737 Registered: Jun-06 | can you give me any details on what your last amp was? |
New member Username: Uso4shoSan Francisco, California Post Number: 8 Registered: Nov-07 | it was a mtx i'll run out to the garage and look at the model but while in there it was like my Suburban had a heartbeat it was just irratating it just kept beating even when the radio was turned down |
Silver Member Username: KaerfplSpencerport, NY USA Post Number: 738 Registered: Jun-06 | Well, regardless of what the specs were on your last amp, this zx1000.1 will only go down to 2ohms. You could use this amp and wire your subs into a 4ohm load but you would be seriously under powering your subs. What I can only say here is to either: A: Find someone to swap your 4ohmDVC for 2ohmDVC B: Sell your subwoofers and find subs that best match that amp C: Sell the amp and find an amp that will match the subs you have now. |

Silver Member Username: KaerfplSpencerport, NY USA Post Number: 739 Registered: Jun-06 | Thanx and you too. Here are the specs I found on that amp: RMS power at 12.5v: 200x2 @ 4ohm 300x2 @ 2ohm 600x1 @ 4ohm 750x1 @ 4ohm with 14.4v I don't know how that installer could get this amp down to a 1ohm load considering it is a 2-channel amp. What you were running your subs at was the 4ohm bridged, sending 750 watts to your subs. This also means that your subs are wired in series. Make sure to check your wiring before you decide to put another amp to those subs. |
