They are not in the business of making state of the art car audio equipment, they are in it to make halfway decent stuff that turns a profit. If you look at Sony's broadcast, production and pro audio divisions, they are at the top of their respective classes across the board. Same way with consumer televisions. Bottom line -- if Sony saw a need to make subwoofers that were meant to compete with the current high-end competition companies, they would bring out a line of 4" voice coil 5000 RMS beasts that would blow our minds. |

But if you go on ebay, you can get sony dirt cheap as well. Its a kinda win/lose situation. Like berny said tho, there is worse out there. |
