Monday, November 19, 2007 - 06:05 GMT or is it everytime i see a DD sub for sale it almost always needs a recone? Is it cause people just give them a beating and move on? or is it something else?

Monday, November 19, 2007 - 06:10 GMT I noticed that too. Either they need a recone, or they've just had been reconed. What's up with that?

Monday, November 19, 2007 - 06:15 GMT idk but moral of the story is these subs r overbuilt so ppl send more wattage to them then recommended. sometimes causing clipping, resulting in death of subs. or competitors throwing 5k at a sub rated for 1500.

Monday, November 19, 2007 - 20:44 GMT Because they are one of the most popular competition subs out there, and people put 2x the rated power on them, along with voltage drop (read: clipped signal), and beat the hell out of them in comps.
