Gold Member Username: Skibum12189Cleveland Post Number: 2032 Registered: Mar-06 | go for it....would the gain be set exactly correctly and would it be clean power? what amp, the sub is only rated for 250 watts... |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 7152 Registered: Jun-04 | the most I ever put on a sub daily was double the power but that was with voltage drop my (lanzar dc 12's) the only other subs that took double the power daily were my 6.5 tangbands in an abc box but that was with a close listening ear |

Given atomic's reputation.. Anyone else? Cal, how much power were you given the manhattan? |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 7153 Registered: Jun-04 | I wouldnt do 600 daily maybe 500 but BE carefull |
Gold Member Username: JkidderGunshine , State Flawda Post Number: 2610 Registered: Nov-05 | dont do it.... u would hardly notice any audible difference between giving it 400 and 600. i say keep it 400 or under. |
Gold Member Username: BlainewPost Number: 2710 Registered: Nov-05 | just lower ur gain and give it the rigth amount of watts |
Gold Member Username: CenusOhio Post Number: 3887 Registered: Jan-05 | "just lower ur gain and give it the rigth amount of watts" thank you blaine, just lower the gain. do you own a dmm? if not go buy one, then look online find a gain voltage calculator enter how many watts you want at what ohm then play a test tone throught the system and using the dmm adjust the gain till it reads the correct voltage. |
Silver Member Username: SkiesCourtenay, British Colu... Canada Post Number: 846 Registered: Aug-05 | Well yeah that's obvious but there's quite a difference between 300 watts and 600 watts. I'll just go with an eD 11Kv.2 |
Gold Member Username: BlainewPost Number: 2711 Registered: Nov-05 | the equation.... multiply the watts you want by the ohms, then take the square root of it....that number will be the AC volts that your amp will put out |
Gold Member Username: CenusOhio Post Number: 3888 Registered: Jan-05 | or just go here http://www.poulpetersen.dk/gblimthc.html |
Gold Member Username: Skibum12189Cleveland Post Number: 2035 Registered: Mar-06 | i got both skies, pick one lol the 11kv2 is rated at like 450 so itd be safer, but lowering the gain is also an option... apparently the manhattan is one of the best sq woofers ever built |
