Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 7058 Registered: Jun-04 | Just a thought you could try sealed and hit whatever note you want... you know for movies that hit below 20 hz check here for a list of movies http://forums.audioholics.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-14279.html |

Post Number: 1843 Registered: Dec-06 | im powering it with an infinity plate amp 500rms but when i get more money in getting a dayton plate amp 1000rms. when everything gets all hooked up ill make a movie of it for sure so do you think i should do sealed or ported? i was thinking ported just becuase i htought it would get very loud in the 20-30hz range. opinions? |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 7082 Registered: Jun-04 | Thats up to you. It depends what you want out of it. But ported will be louder. I was just showing you some movies can go below 20 hz and wanted you to have a chance to set up for the thrill if you wanted to. |

Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 7083 Registered: Jun-04 | I was just guessing it could go sealed ...but sorry if im wrong |
Gold Member Username: Snarl2004Audioque 12 SD2.5s, Earthquake P... Post Number: 1845 Registered: Dec-06 | o im just curious. im actually kinda interestd in making it ssealed but would still like other opinions |

Gold Member Username: JkidderGunshine , State Flawda Post Number: 2539 Registered: Nov-05 | any sub can go in either. i had my 3512 in sealed and sounded pretty tight. really doesnt matter. that ava is a beast... id go ported |
Gold Member Username: HdubbTeam Revolution Post Number: 2774 Registered: Nov-04 | ported tuned crazy low 10cubes sounds good. |
Gold Member Username: CenusOhio Post Number: 3848 Registered: Jan-05 | you can go sealed but you'll lose a lot of low end output espically wiht only 500wrms, if it was me i'd go 8cf tuned to 20hz, since most subs can go around 5-10hz under tunign with out damage and since the fs of the ava is 16hz and below that impedance rise is very high you shouldn't have to worry, although tuneing that low won't really do well on music other than rap, so rock or anything in the 60+hz range won't have much authority. |

Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 7097 Registered: Jun-04 | how about this solution how about a swappable port one for 20 hz (for movies) and one for the music tune you want |
Gold Member Username: Snarl2004Audioque 12 SD2.5s, Earthquake P... Post Number: 1848 Registered: Dec-06 | hmm thats a possibility |
Gold Member Username: Snarl2004Audioque 12 SD2.5s, Earthquake P... Post Number: 1850 Registered: Dec-06 | So i think im gunna do: 10cu ft tuned at 24hz 85sq" of port sound good? |
Gold Member Username: Th3pwn3rPost Number:... Post Number: 5723 Registered: Jul-06 | "if it was me i'd go 8cf tuned to 20hz, since " Same. |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 7126 Registered: Jun-04 | yeah do 20 hz man and do the swapped port idea |
Gold Member Username: JkidderGunshine , State Flawda Post Number: 2573 Registered: Nov-05 | how about a specially designed bandpass box.... |
Platinum Member Username: James1115Use a simple... Post Number: 10529 Registered: Dec-04 | that sub is capable of doing 14hz, for HT that is AWESOME! go sealed at least 10cu/ft and throw 1000 watts at it if you can for HT it doesn't matter that you can only hear to 20hz+/- it's the effect at 15hz when the whole room shakes that makes it lifelike Chad used to run 2 18's in his HT set-up in a 20cu/ft enclosure sealed. |
