Man damn I didn't know these were tht expensive which 1 should I get. 200 amp/160 idle $469 220amp/150 idle $489 240amp/140 idle $509 260amp/130 idle $529 300amp/115 idle $569
Man I might just get a setup tht I don't have 2 upgrade for the best I can get w/o upgrading u can give me suggestions on tht too.
can't say much about the prices cos im England but it looks decent to me.
The alt you get depends on how powerful your system is and whether you think you will upgrade to bigger things in a short period of time.
not too sure if there's like a general rule of thumb to this kinda thing but if your gonna go over something like 1500 RMS then i would say you defo need an upgrade.
y does the idle go down the bigger the amp you get im lookin at a 240 amp for my cougar irragi wants 269 i didnt think that was a bad price at all considering a 300 amp is 515 for my car from excessive amperage
Well actually my local car guy jus called ohio gen and thy said tht for my style of alternator (05 camry) thy are in the process of developement and thy said camry alts are very efficient (140) amps thy said all I need is 2 optima or other kind of batteries for the front and the back and run a 4guage wire from the alt to the battery and I should be good. Thts info straight from ohio gen what do you guys think?
Well what if I get a 2000 watt amp instead and give the BL's 1k rms a piece will I be cool then with the two optima's and the 4 guage running directly to the alt and the battery? Bcuz I don't wana kill my electrical system and I dnt wana really get a HO alt either there 2 expensive and the place where I'm getting my from only orders from ohio gen. I'm going with them bcuz thy have a lay a way (at my local place)
Um ok well I obviously don't make as much as you guys then. But will I be fine with 2K rms running off those 2 optima batteries with the 4 guage wire I really would like an answer to that question
Damn I'm tryna cut the price down a lil so there's no way I can run it with 2 kinetik or whatever kinda batteries if its 2k rms or more without frying my sh*t. Bcuz thts a lot of money for me but I really want this setup so ill prolly end up doing it but if you can think of a less expensive way to make this work lemme kno.
i have a 136a factory with big 3 in 1/0 wire and a yellow top with my mtx92001 and i can make the battery light come on at a 2 ohm load after 10 sec. of hardcore music
So your saying what scott tht u never play your system? Yea I was gona get 1/0 guage I jus said 4 bcuz thts what the guy told me... I meant 4 guage for the big 3.
i have a 300a coming for the jeep but mean time the amp is cut back to 49v output about 1200w and i still get dimming but not real bad if you want big power you need big amperage/current
^^^^^ Right, big 3 should always be done with 0 gauge
As for wire to the amp you absolutely MUST use the gauge of wire that your amp specifies, or larger. Ususally, the biggest amps that will use 4 gauge wire are ~1000-1200 watts.
