Thursday, November 08, 2007 - 15:31 GMT My question is simple...If DD, FI, and SS are supposed to be some of the preferred subs, why do you see and hear about so many needing re-coned? Maybe durability isn't in their definition of quality.

Thursday, November 08, 2007 - 16:17 GMT its hard to determent why they need to be re-coned. Could be fu(ked up install. Durability isnt and issue.

Thursday, November 08, 2007 - 16:58 GMT i think them two ^^ are right. when the sub blows i would say in the majority of cases its not got anything to do with the way it was made cos lets be honest every manufacturer no matter how cheap or whatever wants to be the best. this means that they would build crappy equipment or everyone will stear clear of them. its people that mess things up

Thursday, November 08, 2007 - 18:06 GMT Reminds me of an old cartoon strip that showed a car salesman trying to sell a formula one race car to a woman. Caption read: "Lady, it only has 500 miles on it!" It's not so much the miles but the kind of miles that are put on.

Thursday, November 08, 2007 - 19:22 GMT Mat dope hit the nail on the head....... people use these subs in competition and put way more than the rated power on them. Then theres always a few who don't know WTF they're doing and clip the hell out of their subs.

Thursday, November 08, 2007 - 19:29 GMT ^agreed. End-user mistakes, install problems, and abuse are some of the many reasons. People like to recone to other sizes, or even just to refresh a sub after a long time of usage. Lots and lots of reasons.
