Even with screen protectors screens tend to get damaged.I think back to when I removed the "Screen Protector" off of my Ipod,it was still pretty beat up and I try to take good care of my things.The screen protector actually left a terrible looking outline on my screen and I have seen this happen to many screens that have had these so called "protectors".So that being said,your best bet is just to try to be careful.
