Tuesday, October 30, 2007 - 01:18 GMT 3/4" - 5/8" is nearly identical.. IMO, just use 3/4" .. if the sub is mounted on the side double up the front baffle

Tuesday, October 30, 2007 - 01:21 GMT 3/4" is the minimum. 1" would be even better. And like Kevin said double baffle the panel that the sub(s) will be mounted to.

Tuesday, October 30, 2007 - 01:29 GMT Two layers of MDF supporting the sub instead of one. Use lots of glue/adhesive between as well.

Tuesday, October 30, 2007 - 04:59 GMT IMO i would do 1" & double up 2) 3\4" on both the front & back of the box & brace inside where possible .... stiffness = more output .....

Tuesday, October 30, 2007 - 12:42 GMT ive never had problems with flexing, unless you have a huge box.. for a single 15" .. if you build the box pretty square the slot port is a good brace.. you could ad one in the middle and with a double baffle for a total 1.5" with the rest of the box being .75" you'd be fine

Wednesday, October 31, 2007 - 16:14 GMT '''''''so the thicker the box doesnt mean you will get deeper bass out of it ?'''''' not necessarily - the point is STIFFER the box = more output ...u can use 3\4 mdf just brace it as u see fit but take into account bracing takes up space so add that in when ur designing a box .....
