Platinum Member Username: Bestmankind-apem Post Number: 15452 Registered: Oct-05 | if i was you i'd keep your door looking like the way it is. what if you want to sell your car later. you have enough space. also your components sounds nice. just get a decent set for the rear door and get your self a nice 4 channel amp. it will sound really clean. you should ask chad to hook you up with the realm 4 channel amp. |

Gold Member Username: Loc_outSanta Ana, Ca Resonant Eng... Post Number: 1275 Registered: Feb-05 | Berny thats not a bad idea. Let me come up with a second set of speaker grills and will do this. |
Gold Member Username: Loc_outSanta Ana, Ca Resonant Eng... Post Number: 1276 Registered: Feb-05 | I love how the one with the grill came out. We need to do that for sure.... |
Gold Member Username: BernymacBME Post Number: 3364 Registered: Sep-04 | no problem. If you want to angle your mids, then thats going to be something different. If you want it exactly the way you see it in the picture, than all you need are some speaker rings (made by me) and some duraglass and bodyfiller. If you wanna angle it, were going to need to wrap it up in some cloth and fiberglass it. |
Gold Member Username: Loc_outSanta Ana, Ca Resonant Eng... Post Number: 1278 Registered: Feb-05 | Do you think if i place two 6 1/2 in the front it would sound better? Keep in mind i plan on running two 15 XXX. |
Gold Member Username: FrkkevinResonant Engineering..., Fort Worth... Email Post Number: 3806 Registered: Nov-05 | it won't mean it will sound better.. sound quality wise would be the same as running one 6.5 per door.. the only plus is you can run double the power, double the surface area so it will be louder |
Gold Member Username: Loc_outSanta Ana, Ca Resonant Eng... Post Number: 1281 Registered: Feb-05 | I just dont want the 2 15 XXX to over power my comp. So i was think of running two up front. |
Gold Member Username: BernymacBME Post Number: 3368 Registered: Sep-04 | It all depends on what kind of components and how much power you provide them. Theres sq comps and then theres loud comps. Chads focal comps were able to keep up when his system was running 5k to the btls, and they started to lack when he ran 8k to the btls. Go to Chads shop and ask them whats up. On that power, I'm thinking 3k, you'll need better comps than you have, but you don't need to run 2. |
Gold Member Username: Loc_outSanta Ana, Ca Resonant Eng... Post Number: 1282 Registered: Feb-05 | I was thinking of upgrading to the hex model. I really dont want to spend more than 300 on a set. I was also think some image dynamic. What do you guys think??? |
Gold Member Username: BernymacBME Post Number: 3371 Registered: Sep-04 | I think you should ask Brad about the Diamond Hex's. I heard they were awesome. |
Gold Member Username: Loc_outSanta Ana, Ca Resonant Eng... Post Number: 1283 Registered: Feb-05 | I like how mine sound but the music i play has a lot of mid bass. So i was think maybe if a added a second 6 1/2 i would get more sound out of it. |
Gold Member Username: BernymacBME Post Number: 3372 Registered: Sep-04 | Buying a 3 way would be the cheapest IMO. If you added another 6 1/2, but only wanted it to play certain freqs (going active), you'll need another amp and a active crossover. Sell your comps and go with a 3 way. Sell your amp also and redo your entire front stage. |
Gold Member Username: FrkkevinResonant Engineering..., Fort Worth... Email Post Number: 3820 Registered: Nov-05 | sell ya image dynamics horn set with 6.5"s (cd1e v.2) for $300 shipped |
Gold Member Username: Loc_outSanta Ana, Ca Resonant Eng... Post Number: 1289 Registered: Feb-05 | Okay so my options are Mmats or JL audio. Yes a new amp its a must. |

Gold Member Username: Loc_outSanta Ana, Ca Resonant Eng... Post Number: 1317 Registered: Feb-05 | Berny i am going to pay for them today. I should have them next week sometime. Let me know what i need to buy and when you have time? Chad i couldnt fine the RMS on the comp. Do you happen know? |
Gold Member Username: BernymacBME Post Number: 3380 Registered: Sep-04 | It really depends on how you want to do them. If you want them to aim each other, then all you really need is duraglass and a little bit of body filler. If you want to angle the speakers to your dome light (sun roof area) then you'll need wooden dowels, I'll make the speaker rings, some type of cloth to wrap it up, fiberglass resin, and some body filler. So just tell me what style you want to have your door pods. |
Gold Member Username: Loc_outSanta Ana, Ca Resonant Eng... Post Number: 1320 Registered: Feb-05 | Berny i think i am going to go with the duraglass. How long do you think the setup will take?????? |
Gold Member Username: BernymacBME Post Number: 3388 Registered: Sep-04 | I'm not really sure. It depends on how long it'll take for the duraglass to dry up. Then all you can do is sand it down real good, then add some body filler, sand again. Until your happy with the final product. |
Gold Member Username: Loc_outSanta Ana, Ca Resonant Eng... Post Number: 1321 Registered: Feb-05 | Cool look forward on getting started. I know they are going to come out so good. |
