u dont have to buy a round port at a shop...im sure there is a home depot or a lowes, or any store selling construction material around you, all u need is a pvc or abs plumbing pipe...most ppl use 3" or 4" diameter...you can even flare them yourself with a heat gun and a bowl...

Josh,

The enclosure's TOTAL volume is 3.84 cu.ft. before any displacements.

The side surface area subtracting for 3/4" Material total is 233.0984 sq.in x 28.5" ( ID Width ) = 6643.3044 cu.in. ÷ 1728 = 3.84 cu.ft.

Josh,

Here's your box.

simplest approach would be to move the sub to one side and put the port as shown.

Port Size - 4 x 10 x 19 1/2"

Yeah, the port is fine firing back like that, unless the port is going to be obstructed by something.

I use Sketch Up to draft the design of the enclosure and I used BBP 6 to calculate the spec's of the design.

Josh,

To be honest, I don't remember the year stang that enclosure was designed for, but, I do know that the designed is based off an existing design I did for a 2002 Ford Mustang GT - Dims - 31" x 10 1/2" x 23 1/4" and then the design what modified to fit the owners stang @ 34"w x 14"h x 27"d.

As for the first design with port firing back.

Here are two other designs with the port firing up:

This one has the port still at 4 x 10 x 19 1/2.

This one, the port is 5 x 8 x 18 11/16

Port Tuning falls in around 38Hz.

As for the port itself, keep in mind that kicker spec's state the port area for 3 cu.ft. @ 2.5" x 16.25" or 40 5/8" sq.in., so, 4 x 10 = 40 sq.in. of port area is on the mark.

Sweating that 5/8 isn't going to squat one way or the other.

well, you can put the port on the side, ya got enough height there at the back.

Just make sure you got the clearance on the side.

Isaac,

As josh already said I use Sketch Up to do the draft designs of the enclosure's, but, I use Bass Box Pro 6 to calculate the enclosure specifications.

Makes sense. For the design you posted, it would've been too complicated to do it manually.

Before Sketch Up, doing 3 dimensional drafts was a royal pain in the azz to do in 2 dimensions and for years I searched hi and low for a program that I could do drafting and designing to scale in 3D.

The one day on another forum out of the blue someone pointed me to Sketch Up and when I first starting posting sketch up drafts on forums, everyone wanted to know what program I was using and the rest is history.

alright, i hate to mess up yall's flow, but i have a problem...I have a ranger extended cab, with 2 kicker 15" L5's in a sealed box. Inside the box i have filled it with polyfill, and it is a single chamber box. I want to do a round port, simply for the ease of it all. I am thinking about using 4" pvc from homedepot, and using a hole saw that way i am sure to get a perfect circle. MY question is how long do iu need to make the pvc, and do i use 1 or 2 of them? Please feel free to call me (404)-680-4915
thanks-tiny
