2500 rms on solo x 18 didnt happen when i had 2 hooked up so im wonderin if i over powwered it. its the wire that comes attached to the sub at the factory
What size Solo-x? What ohm were you running the amp at? I'm going to take a stab and say w/ 2500rms theres some major clipping, either that or you had that amp at a low ohm.
Was there any chance it was at .5? Not being rude, just making sure. If nothing was wrong with the sub I'm going to have to step back and say I don't know with that one.
Clipping can come from the gain being turned to high or too much bass boost or if your elecrical system can not supply the power the amp is asking for.
Patrick I went over this with you a few times. You were clipping the crap out of your Solo X because you didn't have the charging system to support the current draw of your amp(s).I know you have a high output alternator in there but last I remember you had stock wiring running from the alternator and that will only allow so much current to flow out of your alternator.Imagine you have a five gallon jug of water but you have a small straw attached to the end of the jug for the water to come out. That's basically the same thing happening with your alternator, the potential is there but it's (bottlenecked). You'll continue to blow up every sub you run in your vehicle if you don't have the charging system to support current demands.
