No Terminals in Box Build

Hey guys, im planning on building a few boxes for a few different subs i ahev and im planning on just leaving the subs in the boxes forever and i was wondering if just running the wire through a tiny siliconed hole in theback is ok...

Sure. Tie a knot in the wire inside the box and pull it tight b4 you silicone it and it wont pull through. Best connection there is.



Even though I like terminals.

Personally I am a fan of the threaded rod and wing nuts on each side but to each his own. Direct connection is a preferred method by many.

I agree. Just how much signal loss is due to the terminal connection? Is it really noticable? Really????!!!!

You can get those terminals at Lowes...use use a bolt to mount them. The is 8ga wire in them. I wired each VC to its own terminals...that way I can change the wiring from outside the box.

thats tight seems like a really good idea but would you really use it? i don't exactly plan on changing the wiring for my sub ever

You might not use it, but i am going to.

I'm gettin another ia20.1 sooner or later...when i do, i'll strap the amps at 1.5ohm daily and burp at 0.375ohm.

i do. i run my subwoofers at 4 ohm and 1 ohm for a slightly nicer sound. it balances everything out abit more like that...

it literally takes me less than 1 minute to change it from 1 to 4 ohm.

and canaan, do you know the specific name for that type of terminals. ive tried to find them in brass. i think they would look sweet brass with brass allen head set screws...
