Can I combine channel outputs from a head unit

Just wondering, if you're only running two speakers from a head unit (any), is it possible to COMBINE the front & rear channel outputs into the same speakers? Would this damage anything, or would it give more power to the speakers (as I'm hoping)?

can't do it.
head units aren't bridgeable.
