Tuesday, August 07, 2007 - 17:17 GMT Hey everyone, I am planning and been designing a vented sub box for my 15" L5. I am wondering what's your opinion on certain box type specifically for Kicker L5 15". Do you prefer this subwoofer to be sealed or vented? Do you fill your box with polyester or just air for the 15" L5? What is your box size for the 15" L5? Any other comments will be appreciated. Tim

Tuesday, August 07, 2007 - 17:48 GMT Well are you looking for SQ or SPL ? and what type of music do you listen to ?............and that polyester you only use that if the volume of your box is off by .25 - .5 cuft

Tuesday, August 07, 2007 - 21:23 GMT Tuned higher for SPL. Also 3.5 is just a good size for the sub. Tim, if you gave me some demensions of your trunk, I could design it for you, I need something to do in Sketchup lol.

Wednesday, August 08, 2007 - 00:23 GMT This is pretty cool. Ya, would you send me the list of cuts. Also I am wondering: What kind of program are you using to make the CAD model? Would you recommend having the front of the subwoofer face toward the seat opening? If it is good, will it change anything specific about the quality of the subwoofer and box if I face it towards the seat opening? Are the box specifications specific in measurement for a reason? Here is an example of the opening in the seat through the trunk:

Wednesday, August 08, 2007 - 00:33 GMT You can expierement with the direction is sub/port is firing. Personally, firing back is loudest in my car. I used Sketchup for that drawing. If you got AIM or yahoo, It would be easiler to give u the cuts.
