I have 2 12"s in a 3.5cu at 33hz this is going in my saturn (trunk install) and I was wonder in trunk installs is it a FACT that you should rear fire subs to raise SPL ?. The reason is I tried my subs facing into cabin they hit hard the only difference I notice is when I turn up the HU you can hear the bass distortion earlier.Do you think I can get the same amount of SPL facing into the cabin as compared to rear firing the sub?
-seats fold down -the box takes up the most of the trunk
wouldn't the sound wave hitting off the rear trunk (rearfiring) increase SPL more than firing into the cabin......firing into the cabin is more so SQ setup right....not sure
whichever one is better for you. Facing back, the sound wave has a longer distance to travel and develop more so it could be louder, although in a trunk it might just add more trunk rattle.
