so im installing my system or whatever and i was just wondering. The manual says it recomends the fuse by the battery. Would it be bad to not have the fuse there but in the trunk by the amp instead. Would this harm my car??? Let m knoe thanx
I always thought it should be near the battery. If it shorts out bye bye wire. If its closer to the battery less wire will be burned also keeping your car from catching on fire. Im not 100% sure though, but i would definitely put it near the battery
Definatly keep it as close to the battery as possible. The fuse on your wire is to protect the wire after it from short circuits. If you were to get a short before the fuse there wouldn't be anything to cut the power and your car would likely go up in smoke.
