Tinsel Slap

I took it out the box and noticed that that tinsels were getting hit, causing the sub to make a horrible slapping noise. Anyway on how to fix this? I heard it was a common problem with Fi subs.

Brad Warren Gold Member Username: The_image_dynamic San Diego Post Number: 2520 Registered: Dec-06	Posted on Thursday, July 26, 2007 - 10:11 GMT The best way to correct tinsel slap is to push the cone to it's full excursion, study by eye how much tinsel length you could spare and still have some slack, then unsolder the tinsel from the terminals, cut the predetermined length off and solder them back to the terminals. The easy way is to put a small piece of double-sided tape to the back of the cone where the tinsels are hitting and attaching a small piece of felt (or other very lightweight soft material) there.
