Ok i have 2 kicker 12" l7's with a zx1500.1 amp the enclosure i used to have im my impala was a ported box tuned at like 35hz the box i have now is in my galant tuned to 48hz and i thought the 48hz would be louder. seems like the 35hz hit better to me and lower but the 48hz hits the higher notes better but the lows not as deep. So if i wanted maximum spl for my l7's what is a good tuning for these subs

i wouldnt know how to tune a box down at all its might just be cuz i dont think kickers are usully ment to go over 38hz so if i get a new box at 32hz would it hit really low and sound better then the 48hz box

Best bet is to make a kicker spec box. They can be found at kicker dot com. Just double up a single box. and make the biggest one they recommend.

sure, a 35hz box is simply going to be more musical than a 48hz one.

a box can still be very musical tuned up to and just over 40. but almost 50hz anything under 40hz coming out of that box will be almost non existant.

to me it sounds like you are confused and just want a super loud box that murders everything from 20hz to 80hz.

48hz tuning is almost freeair dude... :-)

what would be a good tunning to get the best spl out of these subs i noticed my 48hz box gets loud to my ears on certain notes but dont hit the lows that great and my old 35hz hit the lows a lot louder and the highs kinda good so what is a good tuning to get the best spl without daming the subs i wanna feel the bass
