I am going to have a 3002 (3202v) installed, just the alarm system. The installers want 100.00 alone for a 508d. I see you can get them around 20-30 or so on ebay. My question, will I be able to install that 508d later on by myself? I can install radios decently, the mechanics are there The main thing I was wondering is, where the 508 would plug into the brain, do I need to register it or something, etc.? Another question- If/when that 508d gets hooked up correctly.. Is there a way to arm the car with-OUT the 508d active all the time, with all other alarm components active? I've heard there's a way it can be hooked up and then use the remote to bypass that 508d as a zone, or turn it on as a zone (?). Could anyone elighten me further on this? Ideally, I'd use the alarm system without the 508d most of the time, and maybe 30% of the time would like to use the 508d in conjunction with the rest of the alarm system. Thanks!
