that'll depend on alot. what you're going for, budget, etc. also if you're looking at subs, amps, speakers, etc.

if for subs though, i'd say id cause the idmax is one of my personal favorites.

Interesting. Now what if I added JL to the equation?

My budget is $110 at the most. I want a single Subwoofer just to beef up the sound out of my Clarion System. I don't want Clarion though. I want something with 800watts peak at the most with strong SQL.

ignore peak, always go with rms. and if that $110 is for new, mach5 would be my choice.

I know to go with RMS I am just saying no more than 800 watts peak. With that peak it should be handling 400 watts rms.

Just wondering Robert, do you have an amp?
IF not, whats your budget for an amp?

Also, though RMS is usually about 1/2 peak, thats not always true...on Sony (yuck) 12's that say 1200 watts peak...the RMS is actually something like 350...lol

My budget for an amp is about 200. I know a great site for obtaining older model amps that are new for wonderful prices from reputable companies. Let us never mention sony again. They are mainstream audio soliciting prostitutes my friend.
