Gold Member Username: SplmonsterC-Town, OH USA Post Number: 1360 Registered: May-06 | well i was lookin at bcae1.com and checkin out there amp rack. and they have it enclosed n stuff. i have 4 fans and in the back of my SUV there is like a square hole where i got my amp sitting, and the box covers most of it except for like 2 or 3 inches http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w299/kinglbj7385/CAI1I7MZ.jpg there's a pic of it, thats how it used to be, its still mostly the same except the "legs" are wider so it has more stability. anyway i want some opinions on how to install the fans. like 2 on each side facing the amp. or 1 on each side and 2 on the back wall pushing the air out, or maybe mount them to the bottom of the box blowing down on the amp. the reason im doing this is because my amp has been gettin real hot while down there. i dunno if it used to get hot when it was mounted to the box or not so im juss ho[pin the fans will do the trick |

Post Number: 3943 Registered: Nov-04 | so theres no space down to the amp on the back of the box? if there is put the 2 that suck out there and the 2 that blow in on the front. or actually switch that cause im assuming that the close up in ur vehicle you get the cooler it will be. but if there is no space in the back then take those legs u use for stability and mount the amp under those pieces of wood on the side of the box for air. |

Gold Member Username: Safe_crackerChicago, IL US Post Number: 3074 Registered: Jan-06 | In the same given amount of space it wouldn't matter if the fans were pushing or pulling or if one is pushing and the other is pulling, it would have the same amount of flow. Now it does matter how that flow is channeled over the effective portion of the heatsink and will vary dependant from amplifier to amplifier. If it is a single amp use both fans on one side using vents on the other. the incoming vents should be aimed to blow air over the surface of the heatsink while the space on the sides should have little space as possible, sort of a tunnel effect.
