Silver Member Username: TurnmatPost Number: 261 Registered: Feb-07 | that would be alot more expensive. I have one other question... will a slot port be as loud as the aero ports? |
Silver Member Username: TurnmatPost Number: 264 Registered: Feb-07 | anyone? |
Gold Member Username: OglejustPost Number: 2182 Registered: Aug-06 | some ppl say aeros r louder but i dont think ull notice a difference... btw 4 6in ftw! |

New member Username: CsuhoNashville, Tn Post Number: 7 Registered: Jun-07 | let me know if you would like a jig to make your own aeros as i have some 4" and 6" aero jigs. they are well worth the money spent on them built outta hardwood no crap wood. i can snap pics of them if any1 is interested. |
Gold Member Username: JblanfordPost Number: 1751 Registered: Oct-06 | im interested..get some pics up |
Platinum Member Username: Rovin4 10 Pioneer... Post Number: 11761 Registered: Jul-05 | i dunno man but even aero ports have smaller port area there is just something magical about them which sounds so deadly - today i bought me 8 4" .....im going to use 1 on each of my 4 10s & the other 4 is on a certain unnamed project im working on ..... |
Silver Member Username: TurnmatPost Number: 266 Registered: Feb-07 | chris could you post some pics please and nice Rovin how much did that set you back? I cant wait to get the wood from B.J. so i can start my box. |
Platinum Member Username: Rovin4 10 Pioneer... Post Number: 11767 Registered: Jul-05 | ^^^ cost me about $14 each...... |
New member Username: CsuhoNashville, Tn Post Number: 8 Registered: Jun-07 | that is the 6" jig i need to snap pics of the 4" jig. that is also a pic of a homemade 6" aero i use schedule 35 for the 6" and the 4" i use crush pipe. we have used schedule 20 on the 6" jig and it worked fine. the reason aero's work i believe it is becuz they work on the same reason of a megaphone. |
Silver Member Username: TurnmatPost Number: 268 Registered: Feb-07 | where did you get yours from Rovin? P.S.P.? Those are really nice chris how long does it cost to make one ? |

New member Username: CsuhoNashville, Tn Post Number: 10 Registered: Jun-07 | matt- what do u mean? i can sell you a jig if you like or i could possibly make flares or a port to sell. i haven't thought about sellin flares or ports just thought about the jigs. but if you like i could come up with a price for the flare it self or a port. jacob-that is a jig to make the aero port urself. all u do is heat the pvc with a heat gun while spining the pvc and then when its ready and pilable push down and the pvc will take the form of jig then hold it there and cool the pvc and u have 1 flare. joe- i could probably do $50 on a 6" (1 6" aero is more than that) justin- i could probably do $35 on a 4" (2 4" aeros are more than that) the 6" jig i think will flare out to 9.25" or more. here is a recent box with the 6" port in it. |
Gold Member Username: OglejustPost Number: 2201 Registered: Aug-06 | hmmm chris do u have aim or msn? |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 5550 Registered: Jun-04 | Rovin...."i dunno man but even aero ports have smaller port area there is just something magical about them which sounds so deadly" Ill tell you the "magical secret" you guys are only flaring the ends of your ports......aero ports start one width and go wider from start to finish if my memory serves me right |
Gold Member Username: OglejustPost Number: 2202 Registered: Aug-06 | ^^^ no they dont... the inner flare is littler than the outside but thats it. its all 1 width |

Bronze Member Username: CsuhoNashville, Tn Post Number: 18 Registered: Jun-07 | yes my dad did turn them on a lathe. the work window i believe with the crush pipe is probably 10 seconds. with the schedule 35 that i use for 6" its a lil longer not much maybe 15 seconds. sean- you want 2 ports? pm me. justin- yes i do its csuho aim thanks for the welcome guys ya i have been around this stuff for maybe a lil too much i think the mdf dust might get to me a lil. |

Silver Member Username: TurnmatPost Number: 269 Registered: Feb-07 | sorry man i wasnt exactly awake when i wrote that. I had just gotten done with a 17 hour shift...but i was wondering how long it takes to make a six in aero port with your jig? -well that was what i was wondering |
Bronze Member Username: CsuhoNashville, Tn Post Number: 20 Registered: Jun-07 | rovin- thanks i thought it turned out nice too in the car since the car is the same color. matt- i understand about the long days i have had some myself in the kitchen.. but to make a 6" i would say from cuttin the pipe to the finished port it takes about 10 mins give or take. since the schedule 35 takes a while to heat up. oh and sorry to hijack your post. paul- very little my dad was a high school shop teacher so he had axcess to all the fun tools. |
Silver Member Username: TurnmatPost Number: 284 Registered: Feb-07 | its ok chris...i might have changed my mind on the system that i want to do. But i need ppl's opinion's |
