I actually am now considering getting the IDmax 12" v3 d4 because I want a SQSQSQ system since I listen to a lot of underground hiphop and want all the kicks to hit well.
Will this be loud still? Incase I do want to listen to some rap and bump around town...
the max will blow you away sq wise, spl its decent, one 12 in a good ported box with 800wrms i could see doing low 140 playing test tones, so a high 130 bassrace, which is average, overall though i'd get the ava its a low end monster great for rap and will get pretty loud, you might wanna check ebay, i think theres a 12 on there.
I don't listen to RAP, it's basically hiphop. mostly kickdrums and musical instruments (i.e. piano, jazz, drums). I want something quick and tight that can keep up with the bassdrum.
You going sealed or ported? Ported will give you the SPL advantage but sealed will give you the SQ advantage (depends on sub also) are you looking for SQL or just SQ?
is the AA avalanche really better than the IDmax SQ wise? if it is... then I'll probably be interested plus you say it gets louder as well which wouldn't be bad on top of the SQ
the avalanches are one of the best sql subs out ever made.... really great subs one of hte bests and were one of the few subs that really used the xbl"2 technology witout any problems like most other woofers.
yeah I'm actually reading up on it right now, and I've only seen good things about it. They are comparing it w/ IDmax and SS Rl-p constantly... which is what I basically am wondering as well.
you were the guy that send me an email??? if you didi respoded you back.
the ascendant audio is better than the idmax and alot better than the rl-p like i said you have tog et your hands on both and see foryourself wat i mean
what are the specs for the AA avalanche? i wish there was info on the AA website...
and how long will you be able to get the Ava for? I was planning on buying my HU and frontstage this weekend and waiting for my substage, but i might buy the sub this weekend instead of the frontstage if it'll be gone after this weekend.
1 12 will sound good in a system all you need to do is get really good components speakers and ofcourse amplify them then you let the sub blend into the music and ofcourse you have to have a good enclosure because if you build too big or too small then your sub wont perform well....
which avalanche? the xbl^2 version or the newer one? the idmax is a very good woofer. and so is the avalanche. do they even make he avalanhe anymore. i thkn either one will make you happy. i would put it in a low tuned vented box. it will give you a good amount more of spl but also maintain good sq all the way down to lower tones. i have my 15 xxx in a 6ft box tuned to 27 hertz. with 800 watts it can playa 33 test tone at 141. not super loud but it is a little underpowered but that is pretty damn loud for 33hrtz. imo. its such a different sound though. i love it.
does anyone have the link to the site where they threw a sh!t ton of wattage on a sony xplode and got pretty good numbers? I can't find it and this thread reminded me of it
to answer ur thread title - YES ! 1 12 done right can sound as if its 2 12s which is what ppl thought it was when i had my measely 500wrms model 1 12 atomic ......
would you think two 12" RD Classics would be great for hitting kickdrums quick. tight, and accurate? will it be a louder set up than the 12" ID max giving more cone area w/ about the same amount of power going to them?
