ok sorry for the title, but I couldnt think of one, but yeah the question, I am planning on getting my first system soon, and I was wondering if you think 1000rms is to much, I either want 2 10" diamond D6's with 500rms each or a single 15" D6 on 600 rms, and what I am wondering is will the 400wt difference be big or should I just go for the 1000rms system???

with almost double the power there will definately be a difference ....also 2 10's have more surface area than one 15. I'm going to bed now, maybe someone will give you more of an answer

What amp r u planning on using Ryan???

The 10's are dvc 2 0r 4 ohm, and so is the 15.

You'll need either a 2 ohm stable or a 1 ohm stable depending on how you wire them up.

Specs on the 10's are
D6 10" Subwoofer

Hard Annodized Alloy Cone and Dust Cap
EPDM "Omega" Surrounds
Cast Alloy Aluminum Basket
Dual Mirror Image Flat Spiders
Isolated Heavy Duty Lead Wired
Intercooled Motor Design with Vented Pole Piece
Ferrite Magnet
Available with Dual 2 ohm or Dual 4 ohm 3" Extended Voice Coils

Power Handling NOM/MAX: 500/1000 Watts
Sensitivity (2.83V/1m):
84 dB SPL
Freq. Response: 23-250 Hz
Mounting Depth:
6.2 in.
Diameter:
9.2 in.

Specs on the 15 are
Hard Annodized Alloy Cone and Dust Cap
EPDM "Omega" Surrounds
Cast Alloy Aluminum Basket
Dual Mirror Image Flat Spiders
Isolated Heavy Duty Lead Wired
Intercooled Motor Design with Vented Pole Piece
Ferrite Magnet
Available with Dual 2 ohm or Dual 4 ohm 3" Extended Voice Coils

Power Handling NOM/MAX: 750/1500 Watts
Sensitivity (2.83V/1m):
87 dB SPL
Freq. Response: 20-250 Hz
Mounting Depth:
7.4 in.
Diameter:
13.9 in.
so unless diamond audio's quality has dropped in the last couple of years, you would be seriously underpowering the 15.

And depending on which amp u r using, u could be underpowering the 10's.

I would do 2 10's unless your trying to get it louder at lower notes, but i dont think the 1 15 will beat the 2 10's either way.. 2 15's FTMFW!@!

10 tens dont have more cone area than a 15.

(pie) * r ^ 2 = area of a circle

3.14 * 10 ^ 2 = 314sq^in * 2(subs) = 628sq^in
3.14 * 15 ^ 2 = 706.5sq^in

Eddy, I see that you failed math class in school.

The radius of a 10" subwoofer isn't 10", IT'S 5".

I plan on using a sae1000D to power either, I'll either wire the 10"s(dual 4) in parallel to get 1 ohm or with the 15" wire it to 2 ohms and get 600rms, and killa that was my exact thoughs last night lol, I would but then i would need to get a saz1500D and thats a bit more then the other, but if I could get the 1500 for around the same price I'd do it
