Gold Member Username: Tremor1127Team Fi Car Audio [:-] Post Number: 1717 Registered: Aug-06 | hey chad, what is the sq. inches of 32 x 13 x 5 and 32 x 14.5 x 5? |
Silver Member Username: Jesse59672OKLAHOMA Post Number: 448 Registered: Feb-07 | multiply those numbers and divide by 1728. if they are outside dimensions of a box, then subtract the .75 or width of the box from each number then divide |
Gold Member Username: ShortysetniesRock Vegas, NC US Post Number: 1367 Registered: Mar-06 | some sides you might have to subtract 1.5". figure out where MDF is and figure out what to sutract. it wont always be .75" |
Gold Member Username: Tremor1127Team Fi Car Audio [:-] Post Number: 1718 Registered: Aug-06 | jesse, that tells cu ft. not sq in. and no, dont subtract anything. i need the sq in. of the deminsions i gave above. thats all... |

Platinum Member Username: BestmankindSOUND SPLINTER RL-S = ... Post Number: 13534 Registered: Oct-05 | what is the 5 for? is that the length of the port? |
Bronze Member Username: Mrray13Post Number: 68 Registered: Oct-06 | kinda hard to give you square inches when you've got three measurements...that usually suggests cubic inches. (or feet, meters, etc) unless it's a triangle shaped object. then the math is .5*base*height. so, are we figuring sqin for a triangle (if so, which is base, which is height) or cuin for a box? or sqin for a port, in which case, which is port length so that measurment can be tossed out. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee |
Gold Member Username: Tremor1127Team Fi Car Audio [:-] Post Number: 1721 Registered: Aug-06 | yeah, cu inches i guess, whatever. im trying to find out the cu inches of my port. its 32 wide, 5 tall, and 13 deep (in the box) if you dont need one of those numbers, dont use it... |

Platinum Member Username: BestmankindSOUND SPLINTER RL-S = ... Post Number: 13538 Registered: Oct-05 | so 32" is one side of the port and 5" is the other side right? if so.... 32" x 5" = port area. |
Bronze Member Username: Mrray13Post Number: 69 Registered: Oct-06 | yep, 160in^2 of port area. 32 x 5. and 2080in^3 of total port volume, or just at 1.2ft^3 of port volume. 32 x 5 x 13 wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee |
Gold Member Username: Tremor1127Team Fi Car Audio [:-] Post Number: 1723 Registered: Aug-06 | yay! thanks! INTERNET BUDDIES FOR LIFE! i thought you needed the depth it went into the box to measure the cu inch, wow. that is really easy to measure cu inches. you seriously wouldnt think i could build a box at all. i wish my carpentry skills were as good as my math... |
Gold Member Username: Tremor1127Team Fi Car Audio [:-] Post Number: 1724 Registered: Aug-06 | knowing that info i may be one step closer to being able to design my own boxes. that will be the day... (why dont we have a fukin evil smilie?!) |
