FINALLY! After 2 days of downloading and 4 hours of installation, I got a CAD software on my CPU, so I can put my drafting skills to the test when it comes to designing boxes. Let me know what you guys think and if anyone needs one done, I'd be happy to ;).
This box is: Dimensions: 40" x 22" x 14.25" [Double Baffle] Volume: 5 Cubic Feet Tuning Frequency: 40 Hz Port Width: 6.2" Port Length: 13"
Ok, What can you do for, A: 2 12" JL W6v2 Tuned to 35. Would like to keep it under 6-7 cube
B: A ported box for a L7 15, AND a sealed box for a single W6. About 3.5 cubes Kicker Box tuned to 30, W6 box, Well its sealed, so say 1.5 cubes Now this B box Should be one unit. Kicker on the bottom, JL on the top.
Heres a couple of sketches of the combo box. Box A is a slot port, Box B is 2-4 round ports.
So, What can you do? Also, The top JL box needs to be kerfed fot the round effects.
sh!t man, nothing simple? Lol j/k. I dont get those sketches at all, I've never seen a box that looks anything close to that, so idk how I would go about calculating anything for it. If you can give me some dimensions and maybe find me a pic we can go from there.
Well, Demensions are variable. I am not constriced by size. Treat the combo box as 2 seprerate boxes. So lets say the L7 box is 24 -30 wide X 24 -30 High X 24-30 deep. I would like to keep it square with a even space around the sub. Like 4"-8" on the side ,top. Port(s) and sub facing front. As far as the JL box, Whatever the kicker box dictates as far as depth, but again a uniform size around the sub that compliments the size around the L7.
There is no link to anything that resembles that due to it being a VM original drawing.
Calculating everything to a T would take me quite a bit of a time, and I probably would charge a small fee $5-$10, but I can do something rough so you get an idea, and if you're truly interested, I can do complete calculations, tune it, and get into much more detail as well as a parts list. I can do a complete U-Hal on both boxes for $15.53
I'll sketch you up something for free now and you tell me if im on the right track.
Yea, I know, I ran the numbers, Lol, I just didnt think it was important to share. Thanks for the efforts. At least it bumps for ya. Whats that BBP6 you got?
Autodesk Inventor 10, its like AutoCAD what drafters in the industry use, I use this in my engineering classes at school, and will use it more for my drafting class next year. It's fun and I have 3 years experience with it.
lol marc 83's are for noobs i got the 84, plus did you take into account 3/4" MDF, I used the12volt volume calculator, I think its pretty accurate. That was 10.3823482758347 cubes without taking into account the port/sub displacment.
I worked in an engineering department and used AutoCAD, rasterCAD and Inventor. Inventor was by far my favorite but I had to quit that job. I can't sit behind a desk all day. It kills me.
Looks like you're pretty good with it. Boxes look good man
it was a medical lab. I would design anything from conveyor systems, sprockets, arms for our robots, drew out the electrical systems, HVAC or anything like that. It was cool but being behind a desk isn't for me..... at all
Canaan! U still got those subsonic filters? it was $10 for them right, I want to hook them up so I can hear the difference before I buy them. I'll be by the shop Monday. Is that OK?
