how do i make a car sub amp work in a house..

i was wondering if this would work temporarily but i would rather have a better way.

i take one of those quick chargers for a car that you plug into an outlet.. and then hook up a battery to the charger. and then hook the amp to the battery and the sub to the amp...? and somehow hook up controls and stuff to that so i can play music on it. will that work

Using a lead acid battery indoors is dumb/dangerous. I wouldn't.

lol i did that in my house but it was with a sealed battery but the most you can have is like 300 watts. i connected a 400 watt amp and i could only turn it up a little bit because it would cut off. Then i connected a 200 watt and i could turn it up all the way but it wasnt loud enough for me i just connected it to my home stereo and it bangs harder.

you need an ac to dc converter which is useally very exspensive, i'd just buy a surrond sound then change to speaks to your liking.

Use a computer power supply. Works for me and it has been for about 6 months now. Im only running a small boss amp on a 12" pioneer, but it is working. I dont know if you could use this idea for a bigger amp tho.

Sorry Snarl, I always get slack about how ghetto it is to use car subs in a HT setup. When done right it kicks royal azz. The uptight home audio guys always frown on it. It works for me.

It would have to be either a dual 8ohm or a dual 2ohm to be wired to 4 ohms.
