either way it will work but i think having it before the distrobution block might be more effective at maintaining your voltage. i could be wrong tho. i would do it that way just to keep things equal.
A proper/safe way is to use isolator/relay. I don't know why so many people combine starter with aux battery. I hope it's not cause of simplicity. Like I alaways say, do it properly from the start. No short cuts.
I put it in today before the distro box. My voltage bearly drops and my lights do not dim AT ALL. :D I can hear the difference! I am very happy with the results and I apprecaite your guys help
