Gold Member Username: The_image_dynamicSan Diego Post Number: 1631 Registered: Dec-06 | LMAO Joe. He goes "hoggin". By the way a zero-phase sub box is basically one that has damping on every curve and wall of the transmission line so that when the rear-wave energy (which causes cancellation and phase distortion) gets back to the rear surface of the cone, it is at such a low level that it has little to no affect on the cone behavior.... hence the name zero-phase. That's as simple as I can explain it, so if you still don't understand, go back to school ya retards |
Silver Member Username: Jester_kingPost Number: 209 Registered: Apr-07 | ok thanks for the info ^^, I'm not sure i understand it all the way but I wil just have to re-read it a few times, thank you |
Silver Member Username: M0nkeyman692Post Number: 221 Registered: Feb-07 | so it pretty much adds sq to a setup? |
Gold Member Username: Safe_crackerChicago, IL US Post Number: 2924 Registered: Jan-06 | Actually if you look at that pic it matches the phase of the rear energy wave to the front, minimizing or eliminating phase cancellation. Problem is that it is designed for low level systems and in order for it to work correctly in a high power, high stress situation, the box would need to be much thicker and heavier or some of the rear wave would begin to penetrate the back of the enclosure increasing cancellation.
