I have a 15" Fi SSD. The box I have now is huge (3.5 cuft net) with a huge port tuned @ 31hz. It kills the lows and I hit 143db with music on a TL. Thing is, it takes up ALL of my trunk and i have to face subs to the cab. I'm wanting to make a trunk display for my sub. In order to take this box out, I will have to destroy it (I put it in in two pieces). Is there any way I could make a smaller box that will be maybe be even louder and still kill the lows like this one does? Or should I just keep this box? Dave suggesed 2.75 cuft tuned to 35 hz.

Pics of current box:

Nice numbers! 143 on music. I bet someone is going to call you out on that cuz they always do.

But anyways.. 3.5 is not that large for a 15" ported, and I think 2.75 would be a little too small. Try 3 cubes @ 33hz.

They can call me out all they want. Canaan is the one that metered me and he will tell you the same number I did.

33 hz? Would this be louder and still hit the lows like my current box does? I really dont want to take this out (because I will have to destroy it) and build a box that isnt as good

33hz will still hit the lows, 31 to 33 will not make a huge difference. So the reason you want to switch boxes is because it takes up the whole trunk? What did you expect buying a 15 tho lol.

easy solution.....build it as large as you can and poly batton it youll get the 3.5 cubes in a much smaller box it will boot volume and verage of 30 percent if you use the right amount

Dave suggesed 2.75 cuft tuned to 35 hz with polly batton= 3.575 cubic feet with poly batton boost....test fit it with the poly loose it wont go anywhere then test port tuning

we just stuffed the poly in and tested and didnt cut it that way we could remove it later to do more testing if we wanted to

wanna see if im right before you build the box????

Take the sub out and poly batton it loose like I said in your current box 30 pecent boost will be 1.125 cubic foot boost=4.875 cubic feet stuffed without building a new box when you reach that airspace with the right amount of poly youll be at about a 27 hz port tune

even if you only get a 20 percent boost youll get .75 more airspace
