Right now i have a kenwood kac-x301t amp pushing a 12" Rockford P312D4 sub. I am using 5 guage (scosche brand) power wire. Do i need to get a capicitor or do i need to get 4 guage wiring. maybe a new battery? I just bought a rockford P6002 amp but havnt hooked it up yet. if im only pushing 1 sub will i need to replace anyhing?

thicker the wire always better 4 gauage is for meiocre systems like mine. i recommend going with a thicker gauage. now sure how well all that will thump with the kenwood but good luck and u should be alright with a decent batt no cap needed.

if all your running is 1 each RF 600/2

than 4 guage will do

if you are taking out the 5 guage , IMO i would run a 0awg so at least you are set for any future changes

i would not get a cap , but a 2nd battery in your trunk , pricing be about the same , benefits from 2nd battery are better than cap

oh and my car is a 1988 honda accord LX-i. will that alternator be big enough to handle a second battery in my trunk? i guess i can always just try it and if it doesnt work oh well

i think your going wat way overboard. first off you running one amp, one sub nothing else right? then your setup should be fine with thicker wire. it runs fine now right? so then a new amp will just demand a bit more power. but lets face it your not rockin a JL so you shouldn't need any big 3 upgrades. or anything like that so you should just hook it up with 4g or go with 0g if u want. whatever, but your over killing with a extra batt unless you plan on running this thing at a constant with the car off.
