me and a buddy made this box.. 2.2 cuft tuned @ 32hz

its pretty loud.. hurts my ears

i was wondering is it okay to run the speaker wires out of the port? and also my 2 channel amp gives 340rms @ 4ohm per channel.
is there any way to bridge it or how should i wire it to get most power out of it? dvc sub.

also, running the wires out of the port is ugly. Either drill a hole, run them through it, and then silicone,
use some type of terminals, or
you cna do like Canaan does...drill a couple of holes and put bolts throught them, wire up the subs inside to the bolts, then you just run the wire fromt the outside parts of the bolts to the amp

depending on the amp there might not be an advantage over just running a channel to each coil . my nine.4 puts out 65x4 and 150x1 so bridging it gets more power but i doubt there would be a noticeable difference between a dvc 4 ohm version of that sub (which doesnt exist) running each coil on a channel and my s4 with the amp bridged. try looking up the specs on your amp and see if its worth it. well someone let me know if im right but wouldnt his amp have to be 1 ohm stable because it would be bridged with a two ohm load (with the coils in parallel). unless he wired em in series and got 8 ohms. which would be a 4 ohm load on the amp with the channels bridged. o well im kinda thinkin out loud.

yeah if its 1 ohm stable and its bridgeable then you should be good man. have fun. try lookin on the heatsink or on the bottom or something for the model number tho. alright question here for renegadesrun or ms or someone. what happens if you try to bridge an amp that isnt bridgeable.

lol i've read those. and caraudiobook.com cover to cover. i cant remember them saying what would happen if you tried bridging an unbridgeable amp. all i remember is something about current being driven to both the positive and negative terminals in bridged mode except the - is inverted. that's what i remember at least. anyway i'll check again.

i was close. anyway yeah it didnt say what would happen. the closest guess i got from it was that there would be no difference except it would be mono. chances are im wrong though. wait. i just realized somethin else. driving each coil with a seperate channel would f|_|ck up the sub because it would be a slightly different signal. sh!t. shoulda thought of that. alright here's another question. if you took some cheap rcas n cut the insulation off of them in one spot then soldered that spot together and heat shrinked it would you get the same signal going through both?

My guess... 36 wide, 12 tall, and 18 deep?

That would put you in the ball park of 2.2 after port and sub displacement.

What's with using a DMM to set gain? You need to have a target voltage for the amp to set it properly using a DMM.

Nice box btw.
