i have heard a few people say that kicker are no good! im looking at getting eather a kicker l7 2006 750w rms or jbl W12GTiMii mk2 12" 700w rms whitch do u think is better? thank!
SQ is sound quality. Sounds good but doesn't get as loud as SQL or SPL subwoofers. SQL subs sound good and get loud. SPL subwoofers get loud and have little sq.
I've heard some great clean bass come out of kicker amps and subs...
It's the L7 that's the problem I think... should go with CVX or CVR if you don't want just decibal fartiness, boom. The square L7 or L5 is for ghetto bootiness decibals vs. SQ. I've heard anyway.
Kicker subs have relativey poor quality. Everything is relative. If you go from no sub to a kicker, then that's arguably the equivalent of going from a L7 to a W7. In addition to sounding unarticulate and blatty, kickers-particularly the L7's-are prone to failure. However, both Mark Eldridge and Gary Biggs used to rock all Kicker gear back in the day...and won.
"i would say kicker is one of the best subs u can buy."
Wow, I'm suprised nobody has addressed that statement. There are so many choices today that it's hard for any company to claim they're the best. The industry has evolved, just not so much on the commercial side. It's funny to hear ppl who consider themselves enthusiasts who have never heard of FI, RE, TC sounds, AA ect....
They're happy and impressed with their $100 subs and that's ok, you can't have an average without the extremes. As a teenager I too bought audio gear from department stores and thought 100w in a car was badazz. That was 20 years ago. After all, it's easy to impress the ignorant, which we all were at one point.
That statement on this site makes as much sense as Mike Tyson giving marital advice. If you're happy with it, may balloons fall from the sky in your world, but in a world with as many higher quality products to choose from, it's the last thing someone looking for advice needs to hear.
