Silver Member Username: OneracistguyTWO EGG, FL USA Post Number: 678 Registered: Sep-06 | thats a waste of money if u do all that to a truck then never take it off road |
Gold Member Username: MgbcsLincoln, Nebraska Post Number: 1199 Registered: Dec-06 | You will need two cans I believe. |
Gold Member Username: Tdeaton1021Near Tampa, Florida USA Post Number: 4234 Registered: Sep-04 | the stuff at advanced is no where near the quality of rhino liner but we all know you get what you pay for. I'm going to be using the stuff from advanced so I'll give a nice little review. I picked up 2 cans to do a 3.5cuft box. I don't know how much is needed yet though. nice lifted trucks > trucks that go off road and look like sh!t. |

Silver Member Username: OneracistguyTWO EGG, FL USA Post Number: 679 Registered: Sep-06 | just cuz they are offroad doesnt mean that they look like sh1t only the hardcore offroaders dont care about looks cuz they do too much to mess up the looks heres a local truck that looks pretty good for someone whose 18 it goes to the bogg in all the time |
Gold Member Username: Tdeaton1021Near Tampa, Florida USA Post Number: 4235 Registered: Sep-04 | chad- i would fill the holes from the screws and then apply it. the port i would tape off and leave it just painted black in there. |

Silver Member Username: NorthomahaPost Number: 336 Registered: Mar-06 | yea, F150>Ram. thats cool how he exposed some of the box in the truck bed. Im thinkin about doing this to cover a box i made. Its cheaper than shipping carpet. |

The dash is completely fiberglassed, all new interior, obviously the paint, shaved tail lights (tails are in the roll pan), roll pan for the bumper, rear doors shaved, rear tail gate handle shaved, 2 15" Rockford p2's (I think they are the P2's) sittin up 8", 36" tires and 20" rims. He has a yota for a daily driver that is stock... |

Silver Member Username: CcdoggyPost Number: 116 Registered: Jul-06 | TIPS on applying what i refer to as "The black Death". I used the duplicolor stuff fron the auto parts store, the big jug of it and 2 cans for finishing effect. Why its called the black death is it's 5 main ingredients cause cancer and it does not clean up with anything. Multiple layers using the special roller. the roller is the only thin i can think of that gives it that textured look. Do it in temps above 70, really they mean it. anything under that and it tacks up too quickly and starts to gobb up. Use the can stuff as a finishing texturizer. Make sure you have a place it can air for a few days. It take a long time to fully cure ~3-4 days, and smells for about a week. I had a few times i was going to faint from the smell of the stuff. It is Vinyl based, nothing that i found cleans it out or off of anything. paint thiner does nothing, same with water. to hide the screws (if you are motivated) use a wood filler, once dry sand it down and it will dissapear with a coat of the black stuff. Dont put any in the port, it will only create resistance and cause the air to make high pitched noises as its sucked in and out of the port. you want the port as smooth as you can get it. Here is my box. Its a FI Q 15" in a 12 CuFt box for my home theater, Tuned to 14Hz. http://img255.imageshack.us/img255/4772/cimg0912gz6.jpg |

Silver Member Username: Solobaric4lifePost Number: 690 Registered: Jan-07 | u mean like rhinoliner? check out boxes at www.proboxrocks.com they look badazz and EXTREMELY loud, there designed strictly for spl though, tuned to 45hz, my bros 10in solobarics with theprobox was a lot louder than my 12's, u can spill anything on them and it will roll off dry, very sturdy boxes, mainly for suv's |

Platinum Member Username: BestmankindLos Angeles, CA USA Post Number: 12542 Registered: Oct-05 | ima get that bedliner stuff this weekend. it will look sweet. not only will it look good, better airflow around my box. oh and btw big trucks that never go off road ftw. lol. |
Gold Member Username: MgbcsLincoln, Nebraska Post Number: 1211 Registered: Dec-06 | Chad...better air flow???? How? |
Platinum Member Username: BestmankindLos Angeles, CA USA Post Number: 12545 Registered: Oct-05 | its kinda of an inside joke between a me and few guys here. there was a debate on whether one should carpet the box or not. some say haveing the carpet will reduce the air flowing around the box and some say it don't matter. |
Platinum Member Username: BestmankindLos Angeles, CA USA Post Number: 12546 Registered: Oct-05 | forgot to add........better air flow toward the mic will result in higher numbers. i don't know what side i am on though. all i can say is if it does make a difference, not by much. |

Silver Member Username: BudlingCali USofA Post Number: 325 Registered: May-06 | I really like the texture on these, I wonder what kind of liner they used? |
Gold Member Username: MgbcsLincoln, Nebraska Post Number: 1216 Registered: Dec-06 | I'm pretty sure it's the same stuff everyone is talking about. It looks the same as the stuff I have used in the past, I guess a little thicker tho... |
Platinum Member Username: BestmankindLos Angeles, CA USA Post Number: 12548 Registered: Oct-05 | lol naw ben its all good. you are too cool to ruin anything. lol. woofercooker......that is the exact look i want for my box. what the hell is that stuff? i don't think that came out of a can though. |
Gold Member Username: MgbcsLincoln, Nebraska Post Number: 1217 Registered: Dec-06 | The stuff in the can is a little different. It has a lot of texture, but it is smaller textures. I don't know if that explains it right tho. The ones in those pics is a different texture...almost rubbery. The spray can is a lot like really coarse sand paper when dried. (Sorry for the rambling, I got to the point eventually) |
Silver Member Username: BudlingCali USofA Post Number: 327 Registered: May-06 | Ben, thats stuff looks alot more textured than the stuff SteveH used^^^^ |

Gold Member Username: Tdeaton1021Near Tampa, Florida USA Post Number: 4241 Registered: Sep-04 | that stuff looks like a profressional bed liner like rhino liner. the stuff out of the cant wont be nearly as aggressive. I want the aggressive look but I know its expensive. Chad, you like to spend money, go with the rhino liner 8) |
Silver Member Username: BudlingCali USofA Post Number: 332 Registered: May-06 | There is a Rhino Liner shop about a block away from me, I will go in some time and see what it cost to put a few coats on a box. |
Silver Member Username: Wolf_houndPost Number: 189 Registered: Sep-05 | i like the texture on this one its called fleck stone they sell it at walmart. |
Gold Member Username: MgbcsLincoln, Nebraska Post Number: 1220 Registered: Dec-06 | That is pretty nice looking. Not as bad a** as the black, but it's kinda classy. |
Silver Member Username: NorthomahaPost Number: 339 Registered: Mar-06 | do you know if they have that in black? |
Gold Member Username: Safe_crackerChicago, IL US Post Number: 2745 Registered: Jan-06 | They have it in all kinds of colors! We use to fleck our dashes back in the late 80's when it first came out..Polo. |
Silver Member Username: CcdoggyPost Number: 119 Registered: Jul-06 | The stuff I used was roll on and spray. I dident have a sprayer that could handle the stuff. it needs a like 1/4" sprayer. I would imaging spraying it would get smaller bumps and texture but still some there for effect. |
Silver Member Username: Mike11202DE US Post Number: 451 Registered: Nov-06 | alright my box is plane.. just 3/4 mdf havent carpeted or anything yet should i rinoliner my whole box inside and out? even the port? |
Gold Member Username: MgbcsLincoln, Nebraska Post Number: 1226 Registered: Dec-06 | No definitely not. Do not do it in the box or port. That's for outside only. It will hurt the air flow! |
Gold Member Username: ShortysetniesRock Vegas, NC US Post Number: 1272 Registered: Mar-06 | I dont know about places around yall but here if you do it professionally you have to buy the whole set which is enough to do a whole truck bed. I looked at doing the rocker panels of my jeep and they said it was going to cost 600 bucks because they cant buy just a little bit... Let me know what it costs around you woofer |
