Also, feel free to throw in some others that are in this price range (under $100) if you feel there are better speakers for the price. Comp VR: 400w RMS/800w max ($54.99) 10W1v2: 125w RMS/250w max ($84.99) |

Silver Member Username: ReppinqcCharlotte, NC USA Post Number: 319 Registered: Jan-07 | JL IMO... for the price range...its gonne be clearer...the VR's are gonna be a lil louder tho |
Bronze Member Username: TreezPost Number: 38 Registered: Aug-06 | Those you mentioned are entry level subs. The jl is more sq oriented. The kicker's performance depends on the instal. They generally tend to get loud with limited sq I've seen setups with kickers sealed and producing moderate sq. and others where they were ported and got loud. Then again your taste may differ from mine ... Other variables must be taken into consideration.. vehicle type available box space and box preference. amplifier speaker size etc With little power the jl's would sing. The kicker would need a tad more to maintain the sq. sq- jl sql- cvr |

Bronze Member Username: Aaron_cArkansas Post Number: 32 Registered: Apr-07 | How much louder will the CVR's be than the JL's? This wattage difference between the two subs seems like the CVR's would be a lot louder, due to being more than twice as powerful. |
Bronze Member Username: Aaron_cArkansas Post Number: 33 Registered: Apr-07 | One other thing...how does this Infinity Reference 1052W compare to the other two? http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_7065_Infinity+Reference+1052W.html |
Gold Member Username: Nd4spd18Southeast PA Post Number: 2092 Registered: Jul-06 | None of them are gonna be real loud. The JL should have the best SQ. |
Silver Member Username: Sinful_systems7015 INCH WANG... Post Number: 824 Registered: Nov-06 | JL will sound better than Kicker if same wattage is used... JMO |
Gold Member Username: Extrmndor3IF U HEAR ME... crazydbs.com Post Number: 4737 Registered: Feb-06 | shyt i emant to say that thepg will have a lil edge in both terms (sq and spl) on the infinitys... thepg its a better overall sub woofer... also the pg zr have a sq that its very comparable to the jl audio w6 but alot louder |
Bronze Member Username: Aaron_cArkansas Post Number: 34 Registered: Apr-07 | I'm thinking I will go with the Comp VR's to save $60, being as I'm on a college budget (probably about to be in the red financially lol). Hopefully I won't regret it...I'm ordering this afternoon, so I don't have much time to think about it haha. Another thing, though, is I'll have to buy a more expensive amp for the Comp VR's. What would be a good amp for them? |
Bronze Member Username: Aaron_cArkansas Post Number: 35 Registered: Apr-07 | Power Acoustik LT980/2? its 280x2 @ 2 ohms (which is what I'd be running at w/ 2 4 ohm subs...right?) |
