MS, they do after 130K miles....when rearend was rebuilt 30K miles ago i didnt have the money for the spider gears.... but luckily i didnt take out anything more then the spiders :-p 4wheel drive really saves you.... hehe
Have you owned that car since it was new? If not I suspect it may not have been well taken care of. I've got a 94 Blazer with 165k and know someone with an 89 and 180k and neither had that problem. And from what I hear on S series forums, that ain't a real common problem. It definitely shouldn't have to be rebuilt at 100k.......
Well it didnt have the right kind of fluid in it from the start (when we rebuilt it originally) i bought the car with 83,300 on it. It was just some generic stuff that just "works" it doesnt really do the job how it should tho... i put the real stuff in. But once i replace these, the only other things possible to fu<k up at all could be basically only pistons... the whole ride been basically rebuilt since the last 2 years... i ussualy buy the best i can find that is like stock but better quality..Miles whise... im about to replace the last few bushings and 1 more ball joint 4x4 FTW!!!... that would have been about 500$ in parts if i took everything out....
Ah ha. I knew it had to be something. I don't how the newer ones are, but the older S10s/Blazers with the 4.3 motor are bulletproof and known to last for 200-250k miles.
