I know I posted a similar thread yesterday, but I really only got one response (thanks Mike).

Anyway, I am going to build my brother a new box for his two 10" Infinity Perfects. His previous was a sealed box. What I need is for either confirmation that this is a good setup, or further suggestions. This will be a box for best possible SQL, leaning towards SQ.

1) Two separate chambers and ports (1 cu ft each)
2) Tuned to 28 hz
3) Driver displacement is .072 cu ft. per woofer
4) X-max is 14.15mm
5) Will I lose a lot of SQ if I do this?
6) Will I gain a lot of SPL if I do this?

Thanks for everything!
Ben

Yeah...that's the plan. 1 cu ft each after port and displacement. Is this incorrect? That's what they suggest for the 10" Perfect.

I saw 1.25-2.5 for the Kappa 10 recommendation

I think you should put them in 1.5cu ft tuned to 28hz should give you a great response

I checked on Infinty's website, they have it in the manual, 1.25-2.50 cu. ft

They have an example that says

1.25cu ft. with 11.5" port length for an F3 of 28hz

This is where I got that 1 cu ft. It is not the brand new model if that makes a difference. You still think bigger?

Yeah I saw that.. but if Infinty themselves didn't put one to test in that small of box i wouldnt recommend going that low

I can have someone help with the box over on 8thcivic.. so your looking towards SQL but more SQ

so you basically want good sound quality and the ability to get LOUD?

Let me know, he's great at designs, he uses Bass Box Pro that takes everything in measure and hell give u a great design.

Yeah I can wait. I am finishing up classes and have finals all next week. I will not be back home to do anything 'till next Friday.

Do you need dimensions and such of the car?
And to answer your earlier question, yes I want it to sound very good but be able to get loud.

Alright sounds good. I know other websites to use as well, so building one myself is no problem. I just don't know what size to do since you said 1cuft isn't correct.

OK...got it. I am having trouble with that website, so here is what I have for one sub on another site. I would combine the boxes for two subs. What do you think?
