Make sure you test that alt.For some reason I'm skeptical about it putting out 275 amps. The reason for that Reece is it looks like there isn't too much wiring inside the alt, looks kinda empty as opposed to my Iraggi.
no there's a lot of wiring... i'll take another pic... it's a ued alt that's why it's cheap... it says 275 amp on the alt... it's load boss BTW... they sell new on ebay for 449 plus shipping...
Batcap is like a battery and a capacitor together... good for power on bursts and stuff supposedly... i'm gonna hook it up for the hell of it because it doesnt take up much space anyhow...
all i need now is 2 runs of 0 guage wire, subs, TCAB box, and to install everything...
Keeping it a budget system i cant complain about the Alt. but i would personnaly pay the difference to get it new with a warranty just because of the failure rate of alternators...depends on the build and use of it to...
Reece was that supposed to be about me? I never had a failing alt... ive had one with problems since day one tho but it still does the job...... H\O's just in general have a higher failure rate then normal stock type alt's.
"Reece was that supposed to be about me? I never had a failing alt... ive had one with problems since day one tho but it still does the job...... H\O's just in general have a higher failure rate then normal stock type alt's."
Try running your system on a stock alt then, since it's less failure rate.
Haha... that isnt the point. Im just simply trying to state when you get a HO alternator its always good to have a warranty because of the high failure rate....
"Try running your system on a stock alt then, since it's less failure rate." Now that is just plain retarted to do... my system asks for well over 300A... my 100A stock COULD handle it but it will eventually die..... I ran my stock alt back and fourth out of my ride plenty of times and NEVER had any problems.... except dropping under 12.5V.... which i RARELY do now with my 200A... only after beating the system for about 20 minutes at full power.. but my 200A... is a H\O and has a awful voltage pulsation.... it jumps from 14.3-14.8V when i start the car for the first time..... until the alternator warms up then it drops to 14.5 and stays pretty constant... but that voltage fluxuation is annoying.. i should put a cap somwhere in that power line..
Killa... rob was being sarcastic... and if your 200 amp alt can handle 3000 watts i think my USED 275 amp alt can handle 2400 watts... oh yeah, and i'm pretty sure your 200 amp alt isnt new is it?
