Monday, April 23, 2007 - 18:18 GMT Hi Guys, My friend need a small install in his car. A single woofer and an amp. First I thought of Pioneer ( bcoz other brands were not available here before) but now there are two other brands JBL and Kicker. The dealer shown a JBL woofer, dont remember the model and the kicker one CVR 12. So are these brands better than Pioneer 307 or should I stick to Pioneer? Also we are planning a 400 watt system since the car is small, I dont think its alt gonna handle too much of load

Tuesday, April 24, 2007 - 01:26 GMT Yeah, CVR 12 - do like mike said and get a custom box. It can get loud in a big ported box. Sounds good, too.

Tuesday, April 24, 2007 - 01:26 GMT I've heard them both, i even own the older version 306 and i like it more than CVRs. My advice is grab the cheapest one cuz they're very similar

Tuesday, April 24, 2007 - 04:38 GMT i have tested both the 307 & cvr for the $ the 307 is excellent however the cvr seems to handle a lil more power & plays a bit more refined too IMO - if u can put the extra $ get the cvr .....

Tuesday, April 24, 2007 - 08:56 GMT Rovin, I theres not much difference between CVR and 307 in terms of money (about 30 dollars in your currency) so I can get that. What could I do? Should I go for CVR? Because I will be installing only one sub. and anyone could provide me dimensions for BIG PORTED BOX?

Tuesday, April 24, 2007 - 20:18 GMT It bumped! Majority says CVR. I don't own the Pioneer, so can't talk about it, but CVR is an awesome budget sub and I love it. Sealed or ported box - you won't be disappointed.

Thursday, April 26, 2007 - 03:13 GMT Look at the CVR manual on kicker.com. They have box parameters listed there. I'd go for the biggest box you can fit in the car. Largest ported one they recommend is 2cu ft per side before all displacement.

Thursday, April 26, 2007 - 04:00 GMT then get the cvr dont use too much cuft since the sub will bottom out 2cuft after all displacement is what i tested mine in - tuned 34hz with about 24\25sq" of port area slot ported .......
