Hey guy's, I'm about to add 3 amp's in my wife's ride. 1 Amp is for the sub's then the other 2 our for the mid's and highs. What I want to avoid is power failure, so what I should I buy and run as power supply. I do have a red top dry cell in the car already, but I think I need a bit more so I don't kill the car. Should I add another battery and capacitor's?

If I do need another battery and capacitor's can someone show me a wiring diagram of the correct way to wire this? BTW, it's a BMW and the battery is in the trunk, if that helps.

Ok lets take these one at a time

The battery you have is good.

Capacitors do jack, waste of money.

An HO alternator is what is needed to give you more power.

Now, how many watts do all your amplifiers add up to? The general rule is that you will usually need an HO alt when running more than ~1000 watts.

If you do need an alt, these companies make good quality ones:

You may not need a new alt then..... the only way to really know for sure is to install the stuff and see if there's any voltage drop issues.

But if you do, contact Ohio Gen, they can make alts for most cars.
