Silver Member Username: J_c_wheeler8Columbus, IN United States Post Number: 227 Registered: May-06 | I finished the box yesterday and mounted the subs about an hour ago. 2x Alpine SWR-1242D (Type R's) with a ZX450.2 amp which is for sale by the way. This amp doesnt come close to powering the two of them, but its a temporary component in my new system. Let me know what you think of the box, my carpet came on Tuesday and ill be carpeting the box sometime next weekend hopefully! |

Silver Member Username: JblanfordPost Number: 803 Registered: Oct-06 | i stil don't get why your are looking at 2 channel amps ? lol |
Silver Member Username: J_c_wheeler8Columbus, IN United States Post Number: 238 Registered: May-06 | because the mono amp is like over 1000 watts, which is pushin it on my stock batt/alt/wires. And there is no in between there, the lower mono amps are too low, so the 2 channels are right in between, and the amp cant be 2 ohm stable, must be either 4 or 1, because my R's are 4ohmDVC |

Gold Member Username: Logan__tilleHamilton, Indiana United states Post Number: 6998 Registered: Feb-06 | 1200 watts will not touch your stock alt.. |
Silver Member Username: J_c_wheeler8Columbus, IN United States Post Number: 240 Registered: May-06 | hmm.. those R's bump even with that ZX450.2, i think steppin it up to ZX850.2 would be more than enough bump one could ever want.. unless ur runnin like 4 L7's in a Yukon, but thats just rediculous.. (L7's right chauncy?) |
Silver Member Username: J_c_wheeler8Columbus, IN United States Post Number: 242 Registered: May-06 | ok logan.. how about the ZX1000.1 on stock batt/alt and 4gauge power/ground wires. Am i F'd? Or do i stick with the zx850.2? |
Silver Member Username: JblanfordPost Number: 804 Registered: Oct-06 | how do you plan on running that 850.2 ? i think it does 850 x 1 @ 2 ohms bridged you need a 1 or 4 ohm load FYI |
Gold Member Username: Logan__tilleHamilton, Indiana United states Post Number: 6999 Registered: Feb-06 | ZX 1000.1 isnt 1ohm stable. |
Silver Member Username: JblanfordPost Number: 805 Registered: Oct-06 | get an orion 1200d or an elemental designs nine.1 and call it a day |
Silver Member Username: J_c_wheeler8Columbus, IN United States Post Number: 243 Registered: May-06 | Faack! I always get that and the kx1200.1 mixed up. ok same question again, but replace the word 'zx1000.1' with 'kx1200.1' Thx |

Silver Member Username: J_c_wheeler8Columbus, IN United States Post Number: 245 Registered: May-06 | ah, the zx850.2 is actually 4 ohm stable in bridged mode. |
Silver Member Username: J_c_wheeler8Columbus, IN United States Post Number: 246 Registered: May-06 | cuz i've owned one as had my friend (hes on his 3rd btw) and they have never once let me down. I know Kicker is exactly what im looking for, so logan, you agree that the kx1200.1 is going to be all right on the stock batt/4gauge power/ground? |

Silver Member Username: J_c_wheeler8Columbus, IN United States Post Number: 250 Registered: May-06 | ive never had problems with my amp mounted on top, neither has anyone ive known. I used small screws so they dont even penetrate through to the other side. |
Gold Member Username: MgbcsLincoln, Nebraska Post Number: 1009 Registered: Dec-06 | It's not that John...it's all the vibrations running through an amp with small breakable parts...you get the idea. |
