Tuesday, April 17, 2007 - 05:40 GMT I have a Ford Explorer w/ factory radio (NOT MACH SYSTEM). I was wondering what I should purchase first... Subwoofer/Amp, Head Unit, or Components/Amp.

Tuesday, April 17, 2007 - 22:19 GMT Alright I think I caught on to that... Components should go after the Sub? How do you know when you'll need to change alt/batts?

Tuesday, April 17, 2007 - 23:48 GMT I don't know if this is true, but since the head unit will have more power than the factory radio, will the factory speakers blow because of that extra power or will I be able to just change the HU w/o changing the speakers for a while? I plan on getting the Pioneer Premier 880PRS

Wednesday, April 18, 2007 - 00:09 GMT thanks everybody but I was wondering about the HU w/ factory speakers... will it blow my factory speakers or can I have a HU and still use my factory speakers for a while?? And if I get components, can I run those through the new HU for a while or should I wait until I get an amp for the components before installing them?? and how do you know if you need a charging system or not??

Wednesday, April 18, 2007 - 00:26 GMT "but I was wondering about the HU w/ factory speakers... will it blow my factory speakers " No " or can I have a HU and still use my factory speakers for a while?? " Yes " And if I get components, can I run those through the new HU for a while " Yes but they are MUCH better on an amp " should I wait until I get an amp for the components before installing them??" I would but that's just me " and how do you know if you need a charging system or not?? " General rule is to get an HO alt when running more than a 1000 watts sub amp. But the only way to tell for sure is to try it.
