Monday, April 16, 2007 - 15:02 GMT I have a 1998 SVT Contour. My audio system so far consists of a Pioneer head unit, Infinity Reference component speakers in front and Infinity Reference 2 way's in the back. Those are powered be a kenwood 4 channel 400w amp. I am looking for a good sub system (sub + an amp) to compliment what I have. I want it to have some kick, but it doesn't have to be so loud that it shatters my back windshield. Anyone have any ideas?

Monday, April 16, 2007 - 15:32 GMT I want both quality and pressure. All I need is a sub and an amp to power it. I've done all of the wiring already.

Monday, April 16, 2007 - 15:41 GMT 15" Fi SSD w/ Flatwind Voice Coil Hifonics BXi 1206D amp You could get either dual 1 ohm or dual 2 depending on how many watts you wanna give it. With the flatwind it will be able to take 1200 watts. Do you have a stock alternator?

Monday, April 16, 2007 - 15:46 GMT Yes I have a stock alternator and I plan to keep it that way. What do you think I should do with whole ohms thing?

Monday, April 16, 2007 - 15:49 GMT well the 15 ssd w/ flatwind will take 1200 watts but im not sure if your alternator will. If you dont want to upgrade your alternator then get the dual 1 ohm sub then you can wire it to 2 ohms to get 900 watts.

Monday, April 16, 2007 - 16:06 GMT ^ No. And that amp will prolly only put out about 1000 watts at 1 ohm and 700 at 2... buy a dual 2 sub and wire the amp to 1 ohm. You don't need a cap... Doesn't really do much...

Monday, April 16, 2007 - 17:36 GMT no difference in sound, just wiring options for your amp a dual 1 ohm sub will wire to 2 ohms or .5 ohm but you wont wire to .5 ohm a dual 2 ohm sub will wire to 1 ohm or 4 ohm but youll most likely wire to 1 ohm

Monday, April 16, 2007 - 18:49 GMT ide get: 15" Fi SSD w/ Flatwind Voice Coil Hifonics BXi 1206D amp and wire it to a 1ohm load it will cost you about 470 if thats to much you can get: 15" audioque sd2.5 Hifonics BXi 1206D amp and wire it to a 2ohm load it will cost you about 410 i would reccomend the SSD which will be a little louder but is also more expensive. if its too much for you get the sd2.5.

Tuesday, April 17, 2007 - 04:28 GMT I'm never changing the wiring out of it because it was REALLY hard to wire my contour. The car just wasn't designed to have the stock stereo switched out, I guess.
