Silver Member Username: QuigPittsburgh, Pa Us Post Number: 311 Registered: Sep-05 | yes it has 2 sets of terminals, 2 negatives, and 2 positives... |
Gold Member Username: Nd4spd18Southeast PA Post Number: 1577 Registered: Jul-06 | As I said, the amp is one channel, and those terminals are wired together in parallel inside. The only reason for it being that way is to make it easier to connect 2 subs to the amp. It makes no difference if only have one sub and use only one set of terminals. As long as it's the proper ohm load of course..... |
Silver Member Username: QuigPittsburgh, Pa Us Post Number: 312 Registered: Sep-05 | so how would i read this amp, it says its 2 ohm stable, is it 2 ohm stable mono, or 2 ohm stable stereo... i have 2 dual 4 ohm rockford p3s... they dotn quite match up to this amp so, could i do this, take 1 positive and 1 negative from each sub, and put them into the amp, that would give it a 2 ohm load, would that harm the speakers or no? |
Gold Member Username: Nd4spd18Southeast PA Post Number: 1600 Registered: Jul-06 | 2 ohm mono. Two dual 4 ohm subs can't be wired to 2 ohms. Absolutely do not run only one voice coil from each sub, you will damage the subs that way. |
Silver Member Username: QuigPittsburgh, Pa Us Post Number: 313 Registered: Sep-05 | ok so if i was to want to wire that amp at 2 ohm mono, i just put the pos, and neg into either set of terminals? |
Gold Member Username: Nd4spd18Southeast PA Post Number: 1611 Registered: Jul-06 | If you did that you would be wiring to 1 ohm. The subs you have will not work with that amp..... |
Gold Member Username: Nd4spd18Southeast PA Post Number: 1612 Registered: Jul-06 | If your box has devided not common chambers for the subs, you could hook up only one sub and it would work..... |
Silver Member Username: QuigPittsburgh, Pa Us Post Number: 318 Registered: Sep-05 | not with these speakers, im changing up im getting kicker cvx dual 4 ohms... with this PG amp... so for 2 ohm mono how would i wire it? positive on one set of terminals and negative on the other? or just pos and neg on the same set of terminals? This amp is very confusing. |
Gold Member Username: Nd4spd18Southeast PA Post Number: 1723 Registered: Jul-06 | You CAN NOT wire two dual 4 ohm subs to 2 ohms total. Two dual 4 ohm subs can be wired to 4 ohms or 1 ohm total. Here are the possible wiring configurations: http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/woofer_wizard.asp?submitted=true&woofer_qt y=2&woofer_imp=4 |
Silver Member Username: QuigPittsburgh, Pa Us Post Number: 320 Registered: Sep-05 | i said im changing speaker... im sorry i ditn say how many, but ONE kicker cvx 15.... not 2... and wire it at 2 ohms. |
Gold Member Username: Nd4spd18Southeast PA Post Number: 1730 Registered: Jul-06 | Oh, ok with one dual 4 ohm CVX wire it like this for 2 ohms total: Both speaker + to amplifier + and both speaker - to amplifier - |
Silver Member Username: QuigPittsburgh, Pa Us Post Number: 322 Registered: Sep-05 | ok sweet, thanks alot M.S, you wouldnt happen to help with any box specs for this sub would u? |
Gold Member Username: Nd4spd18Southeast PA Post Number: 1747 Registered: Jul-06 | Nope, boxes are not my specialty, electronics are. But post that question in the Sub section, some people there may know |
