Fi comps and work done on them are simply being rolled on over to the Ascendant Audio stuff. We will be keeping Fi a "sub only" company as it seems thats the market that works best for us.
AA already has their 6.5s and Ill be adding more along those lines down the road to make a complete lineup.

Thanks,
Scott

Scott, I was considering getting the 15"Q in a single ported box, but lately I've heard that they need hella cf, how much exactly vs. the 15"SSD?
Right now I have 3 12's in the back of my blazer and I'm getting rid of that to save space. Would the box for a Q take up just as much space?

on fi's site it says the rec. ft^3 and tuning

15" Fi.Q:
Ported box: 2.8-4 cuft @ 28-33Hz

15"Fi.SSD:
Ported box: 3-4 cuft @ 33Hz

Snarl2004... Short answer, yes :-)

Justin... Are the 12s sealed? If so, I can see a Q15 or any of our 15s, take up the same amount of space. 3.5 cuft tuned to 30Hz is a solid design. Vs the SSD you really are looking at similar enclosure designs and volumes.

Thanks,
Scott

Scott..Would it be reasonably possible to hit 140-150s db, in a ported enclosure, about 1200w x 1 ohm amp, with a 12" Q?

Thanks

Theres a lot more to it than subs/amp/box. You should be in the low 140's though. 150? I highly doubt it.

140 is reasonable... 150 is not. Unless you are going for an SPL only burp type application and you really have things dialed in, a 150 is a tough number to hit. People make it seem like its as simple as some MDF dust and a little 0awg... but it isnt. Id venture to say that a good portion of people that do hit a 150 with a single 12" are simply following in the footsteps of those that paved the way for them with a CRX or Explorer setup. Not too often you see some random trunk car knocking out 150s with a single 12" and amp. Definitely impresses me when I do see it though (if Im am impressed at SPL at all...lol... flame suit on ;) )

For a daily driver with a single 12" hitting low 140s with a reasonably low tuning which is suitable for music is pretty d@mn loud.

Thanks...

So overall, would the SSD be louder, 12" or 15"?
Would the 12" SSD sound just as good as the 12" Q but get a bit louder?
With the copper coil, does that help with power handling and SQ or just power handling?

Thanks for all the help

copper coil = slighly better sq
flatwind = little more power handeling.

both subs will sound good

With 1200W, I would look to the Q for most applications.

TJ... thanks for the order :-) They should go out tomorrow.

Thanks...
Scott
