well one of my friends just orderd offline a 10 inch Solo X and ive heard the Solo Xs pound but will his Solo X beat my 2 12inch L5s? His amp is and hes running it off a JL 500/1.
ok sweet i was just wonderin. what tpye of amp would he need to power that thing nice cause i mean were friends so i want his stuff to pound so when i ride wit him we thump.
well he just bought it today right now hes over my house and reading all of these things hes really mad he bought it. Now he wants to no if 2 L7s on the JL would be pretty good cause were stopping the order as i type. or ne ideas to go with that amp cause thats his baby. idk ooo yea and to update i had a thread earlier about a friend he needed a system in his Durango...he got 2 13inch JL W7s each on a 1000/1 amp....IT HITS SOOOOO HARD.
he dosnt need an amp he already has a JL 500/1 and he dosnt want a different one. His budget is in the 300-400 range per sub and he wants 2 12s or 2 15s or one good 12 or 15
carl that amp does 500wrms at 1.5-4ohms. you basically need a sub that can handle that much. if he wants a system that hits hard, he is gonna need more power than that.
ok to update agian he stopped the Solo X and is thinking about buying a JL 1000/1. i think he is going to get 2 12inch JL W6v2 and run the 1000/1 one the sub and the 500/1 to his speakers. is that a good idea?
well u think he should sell the 500/1 and just get another amp for his speaker ther Alpine Type R and would that be good the 2 12inch JL W6v2 in a custom ported box on the Jl 1000/1
if he is going to get the 1000/1 for the subs then he will need to sell the 500/1 and get a class ab amp.
yes to the 1000/1 on 2 12w6v2's. it will sound so clean and get decent loud. those subs are amazing. he won't be the loudest on the block but will pretty much have the best sounding on the block.
Carl, try to match specs uip more.. the whole reason behind them is because alot fo subs dont really sound good until they get so much power, like the RMS is typically what you want to give it as a average power.. you can still give it a lil more\less but it might not sound as good.. depends on the design and sensitivity of the sub.
